Disclaimer
What the material on this site is, what it is not, and how to raise something you believe is wrong.
What the content on this site is
Everything published here is my own analysis and opinion, formed from material that was publicly available at the time of writing. Findings describe what I read or ran, and the conclusions I drew, at a specific point in time.
Where a finding involves running code, the commit and the date are stated. Software changes; a result recorded against one commit says nothing about later versions.
What it is not
This site does not provide professional, technical, investment, or legal advice. Nothing here should be relied on as the sole basis for a decision about which technology to adopt, fund, or build on. Readers should form their own judgement and, where the stakes warrant it, obtain independent expert advice.
The content is not peer review, certification, accreditation, or endorsement, and it carries no such authority.
On assessments of published work
Where I conclude that a proposal is unconvincing, impractical, or that I could not reproduce a described result, that is a statement about the evidence available to me and about my own attempt. It is not an assertion that the authors acted improperly, that their work is without merit, or that their results are false.
Research is difficult, results are often sensitive to conditions that are hard to convey in a paper, and a failure on my part is at least as likely an explanation as a failure on theirs. I try to write in a way that makes that plain, and I welcome being shown that I was wrong.
Corrections and right of reply
If you believe something published here is inaccurate, write to contact@currybench.org. I will review it and, where I am wrong, publish a correction with the same prominence as the original material. Where we continue to disagree, I will publish your response alongside the finding.
Corrections are recorded openly and dated. They are not made silently. I aim to respond within thirty working days.
Intellectual property
The text, illustrations, and diagrams on this site are my own work.
Papers, repositories, and other third-party material discussed here remain the property of their respective authors and rights holders. Such material is described in my own words and linked to its source. Where a short quotation is necessary to make a point precise, it is brief and attributed, in reliance on the quotation and criticism exceptions under applicable copyright law. Figures, tables, and code from third-party works are not reproduced.
Names, trademarks, and logos of organisations mentioned belong to their owners and are used only to identify the work under discussion. Their use does not imply any affiliation with or endorsement by those organisations.
If you are a rights holder and believe material on this site exceeds what is permitted, write to contact@currybench.org and I will address it promptly.
Conflicts of interest
I have no affiliation with the research groups, companies, or institutions whose work I read, and I receive no payment from them. If that ever ceases to be true for a particular finding, the relationship will be declared on that finding itself, before the analysis. This site is non-commercial: it sells nothing, carries no advertising, and accepts no sponsorship.
